There are many fundraisers going on in the month of April. Not only are we getting money for our school, but were also raising money for much bigger causes such as the breast cancer awareness fund. Our teachers are a big part of this, but the students at AL Stanback are also working hard to raise lots of money for their favorite causes, whether it is money for the social or new books for the library.

The book fair has just ended and our library is now ready to welcome many new books. As a result, of the book fair fundraising we have done our school has bought at least 200 new books for the library. We raised approximately $1,700



Our school is not only raising money for our library but was also raising money for a much bigger cause, breast cancer awareness. The baseball team is raising money by letting teachers wear pink on game days for a dollar, which is donated to the breast cancer awareness fund. Students also can donate by wearing pink at any home game and the money they pay to get in the game is donated to the breast cancer awareness fund. Mr. Sharpe had family member that were going through it and he wanted to do something special. It was Mr. Sharpe idea, and when he proposed it to his team, they all jumped at the idea, and they have raised about $348. It is not just about winning said Mr. Sharpe it about helping them become great young men. In addition, the breast cancer walk-a-thon is going on Friday May 2nd at the Orange County Speedway.



A couple of 8th grade teachers are holding a fundraiser. Mr. Sharp and Mr. Capps have sold raffle tickets every day at lunch until Friday April 25. The money raised will be put into the 8th grade social. They are planning to use the money to help buy the cake, decorations, and many other things. The money will mainly go to this year’s social, but any left over money will be put into next years social.
