Every new life begins at fertilization. This is an undeniable fact of biology. It is true for animals and true for humans. When considered alongside the law of biogenesis that every species reproduces after its own kind we can draw only one conclusion in regard to abortion.
No matter what the circumstances of conception, no matter how far along in the pregnancy, abortion is immoral and clearly ends the life of an innocent human being. Human life is no longer a matter of an opinion, it is plain experimental evidence.
Whether or not science says life has begun after fertilization, the Bible clearly holds the life of an unborn as something sacred and supremely important. Psalm: 139:13 says, “For you (God) created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”
The loss of an unborn infant’s life is strictly forbidden in most major religions. Religions across the world claim that abortion is first and foremost a sin against God and his law, “thou shall not kill.” The opposite of “giving life” is “taking life” or in stronger words “killing life” and the Lord should be the only one to uphold the power of giving the gift of life or taking it away.
According to the National Right To Life Committee, there is one abortion every four seconds; 24 hours a day. For every unwanted baby lost to an abortion, there are at least 10 families that would’ve loved to have taken that baby.
For a healthy baby there is a 2-4 year wait and could cost as much as $10,000 to $15,000. There are so many people out there that wish they had the chance to get pregnant. If the woman feels that she is not ready to be a parent then she could at least give the baby up for adoption, and make their life, that baby’s life, and the family adopting the baby’s’ life a lot happier.
Pro-life people are diverse in economic status, education, race and religion. Yet they are unified by the concept that all humans, especially the innocent unborn, have a right to life.
The National Right To Life Committee states that women who choose to go through an abortion do face a numerous amount of physical complications such as: hemorrhaging, perforation of the uterus (collapsing of the uterus), uterine rupture, endotoxtic shock, unintended surgery, convulsions, cervical laceration, cardiac arrest and death.
Abortions also can leave several emotional scars on women. Often after an abortion feelings of guilt can linger on, sometimes for years.
This can cause them to not take interest in anything or anyone. Lots of women who go through abortions can feel a lot of anger as well, toward the people that helped them go through it: themselves, their doctor and their partner.
They blame them for not offering support and for not informing them of the emotional consequences. It also is very common for women to experience grief, which can cause crying for weeks or even months after an abortion.
Spiritual injury is another horrendous scar abortions may leave, especially if the woman is very religious. She will feel a sense of a mental block with her and her religion. Suicide attempts can also happen after an abortion. Women often attempt to commit suicide around what would have been the expected day of the unborn child’s birth.
Abortions are truly sad and extremely immoral and some women sadly use it as a form of contraception. Take for instance birth control or condoms.
Women today think it’s ok if they become pregnant they can just go down to the city clinic and undergo an abortion like its nothing, but little do they know all the consequences they may face in the future ahead.
Human life is a very sacred and a beautiful thing and should be safeguarded regardless of any circumstance.
When a woman has a “crisis pregnancy” it’s time to love and nurture them both, both mother and child.
