Over the Christmas break I was in the play “Evangeline.” Evangeline was an Acadian (Canadian-French) maiden who spent her long life awaiting her lost love, Gabriel. When I first auditioned and found out I was in it, I was really nervous. But as we went along, I made friends and built up my courage. It was an amazing experience. The rehearsals were the exciting part. Well, other than the performance. I liked being in Evangeline. At rehearsal we worked on sections of the show, but eventually went to practicing the whole show in costume. Our costumes were great. I had a purple shirt, brown pants and black shoes. The worst part of the costume was the tights. One of the directors was Jamie Wax (Matthew) who is one of Ms. J. Smith’s friends. My favorite characters were Evangeline and Father Foliation. The next time Evangeline comes up, I will audition for it. I think that other people should audition for it too.
