Assistance is available for students preparing for college, including scholarships and financial aids.
Moving on to college takes a lot of preparation and requirements that a student must meet, which includes expensive tuition. However, this does not always have to come from the students’ pockets.
There is financial support awaiting people who need it. Financial aid and scholarships offer the most help for students so college can cost less.
Every student is advised to take advantage of this opportunity to make college preparation easier.
Since the beginning of the school year, the senior class was given information about financial aid and scholarships through their government classes, reminding them of the support with which they can be provided.
All of this information is accessible through the school counseling office, bulletins posted around the campus, and websites of counselors and government teachers.
A post-secondary mini-guide is also available for seniors to be reminded of deadlines, scholarship requirements, and pointers for applications needed to get financial support, like the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Completing the FAFSA form can get students grants from several different financial support programs, such as Federal financial aid, Constitution financial aid, which is the support given by the college a student is applying to, or private donors.
However, according to Counselor Corey Clyde, "Not one form will do it all for any student."
A student must meet the certain requirements and be punctual, responsible, and committed to maintaining good grades even after being accepted or qualified for financial aid and scholarships.
