Sandra Bullock had quite a year.  In 2009, she starred in three movies, (two of which hit it big worldwide), made a ton of money, and come back and punched in the face those who said her career was past its peak.

Sandra Bullock played three very different characters in her three starring roles this year.  In The Proposal, she stars as Margaret Tate, a pushy boss who forces her assistant to marry her to avoid being deported to Canada.  In All About Steve she plays a quirky cruciverbalist who is convinced by one blind date that Steve is for her, and proceeds to follow him and his news crew all around the country, much to Steve’s horror and embarrassment.  In The Blind Side, she plays Leigh Anne Tuohy, an upscale woman who takes in a homeless African American man from a broken home. 

Variety says Sandra has made motion picture history with The Blind Side, which has become the first flick driven solely by a female star to pass the $200 million mark.  She was also named the top earning star of 2009 (beating out stars like Johnny Depp and George Clooney) based on the success of "The Proposal," which made $315 million worldwide, and "The Blind Side," which has made $200 million domestically since opening at the end of November.  She won a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Actress for The Proposal, the movie which also got a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Comedy Movie.

Bullock is grateful for the year she’s had, saying "It's been my best moneymaking year.  It's been an unexpected year… None of this was done on my back alone. ... It's an extension of a [wonderful] ride."  Hopefully she can continue her success in 2010 and give us moviegoers something to look forward to.
