The basketball season, so far, is going well for the Lakers. LA is in first place in  their conference.  So far, the team has 35 wins and 11 losses. The Lakers' top scoring player  is Kobe Bryant. With a 32.2 average, he became the second best scoring player this season. The player beating him is Lebron James, with a 35.4 average. He plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Lakers have a new player named Ron Artest. With him, they now have the best defensive team. The Lakers' rivals are the Boston Celtics because in the other conference Boston has 34 wins and 11 losses. The top basketball player named Kobe Bryant has a broken finger so he can’t play.  They are going to play difficult teams in the next five games. Kobe Bryant broke his finger making a last-second three-pointer at New Years game against the Miami Heat.  So far Bryant is number two in the race to become MVP. With his broken finger now Bryant has a setback in becoming MVP. Now Kobe Bryant has injured himself again by spraining his ankle but he refuses to do what the coach says, which is to rest. He said, "I am going to play every game in the season." Now Bryant has made it to the All-Star line-up on Feb. 14.
