Hello lions and cubs! I'm Monique Garcia, your 2009-2010 Associated Student Body President.
This year, ASB has seen some drastic changes. We've added six new commissioner positions: Arts, Clubs and Organizations, Community and Professional Development, Publicity, Spirit, and the Lion's Den.
Currently, we're working on our first annual "Fright Night." At the festival, we'll be having food, cotton candy, soda, popcorn, and other goodies. There are many booths and games and prizes to be won. Admission is only $5 and tickets for games and food are sold separately. You must buy your admission wristband early because the wristbands will not be sold at the door.
Also, there is a Pumpkin Decorating Contest for all fifth period classes. You must turn in your pumpkin before 2:00 on October 3, 2009 in order to be considered. Winners will be chosen for the Most Creative, Funniest, Most Original, and Scariest at Fright Night. The four winning classes will be given an ice cream party!
Homecoming 2009 will be held on November 20, 2009 at the San Diego Women's Club on Third Avenue, Downtown. The theme is "Rockin' 50s" so get out your leather jackets and Ray Bans. Homecoming tickets are $30 with an ASB Card and $35 without. We are also in need of teachers and parents to act as chaperones for the dance.
ASB hopes to see you all at "Fright Night" on October 3 and Homecoming on November 20. Check back next month for more updates!
