Oscar Creech last year came to Newman as camp director a co-teacher. Now Mr. Creech   has a third grade class, the Hero class. He heard about Newman at a Carrollton Boosters game for his nephew. He came to Newman with his resume and boooooommm!!!! Mr. Creech is also a teacher for a digital photography a class. His teaching methods are manipulatives and choices.

Terry Todd moved from Baton Rouge to New Orleans  and has a lot she wants to do. She is now working in a pre-k class the Forest class, because she likes the forest!!!! Some of her ideas are “more play time” and “a tree house.” Boy can she think big!!! She also want to make a “pretty pre-k” and more “hands on” work.

Nila Surgi  is the one thing that stayed the same in fifth grade. Mrs. Surgi LOVES FIFTH GRADE!!!!!!!!! She’s been teaching fifth grade math for 35 years!!!! That’s a lot of math and teaching!!!! She loves fifth grade because “they hug and have a lot of energy they are organized and share.” She thinks the new fifth grade team is a very nice and the new fifth grade rocks!!! The new fifth grade teachers work well as a team.  Both the staff and the kids share a lot

Here is the list of the new teachers

Dana Herring

Katharine Miles

Sally Grant

Kim Martin

Eve Lazovitz

Thomas Barone

Megan Mazzanti

Kim Mantle

Elaine Sevin

Elysa Ryan is a 5TH grader who loves fifth grade!!!!  She loves rotating classes, sitting in booths during lunch and so on and so forth. She really loves all of her teachers!!!!  She loves the reading, the writing, the math, the science, and language arts. She also loves the “subjects” recess and lunch.  Like any ordinary kid, she has ups and downs (like having P.E. after lunch) but mostly she enjoys everything!!!  Wow, that grade sounds fantastic.  I can’t wait for fifth grade!
