League City, Texas- The notion that children are twiddling their thumbs waiting for school to begin is certainly not the case in Clear Creek ISD. Student volunteers have launched Operation CRAYON (Children Rallying Assistance for Youth of Need) to help their fellow peers who have lost so much in the storm.

Operation CRAYON is a clothing and school supply drive run by students of Clear Creek ISD. Businesses and individuals interested in participating in Operation CRAYON can help CCISD collect the following items for students in need:

New or gently used clothing

Standardized dress attire

New backpacks

School supplies

Monetary donations are also being accepted

The donation acceptance center for Operation CRAYON is located at McWhirter Elementary, 300 Pennsylvania Avenue in Webster, Texas. This is also the same location where CCISD will be enrolling children displaced by Hurricane Ike beginning Monday, September 22, 2008.
